Ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal pain and injury management is a large part of what we do. In case of minor injuries to tendons, ligaments and joints, satisfactory pain control can be achieved by an ultrasound-guided injection of corticosteroid (Cortisone) into the affected area.
This procedure is safe, easy, and quick for the patient. This is also commonly used to treat chronic pain conditions such as osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis, mechanical pain, or pain due to chronic repetitive injury.
We bring years of expertise, state-of-the-art techniques, use of latest equipment and medicine to ensure prompt management of pain and speedy recovery of musculoskeletal injuries. Commonly performed procedures include treatment of subacromial bursitis, trochanteric bursitis, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, various superficial nerve blocks such as scapular nerve block, block of the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh, amongst others.
We work closely with local orthopaedic surgeons and general practitioners and meet with them regularly in various forearms and meetings to support a team approach to individual patient management.
Preparation:
No specific preparation is required for the patient. The procedure usually takes only a few minutes. The side effects are usually minimal. In some cases, the patient will be advised to stop any anticoagulants.
Once an appointment has been made, our staff would be in contact with the patient to advice if any precaution is to be taken. Generally, it is safe to drive home after the procedure.
